The good, the bad, and the late-night-pensive
Wednesday, December 1st, 2004 02:30 amGood: Getting the newsletter done.
Bad: Missing my dinner date because #@&!* Gmail would not send my *$&@^#(*&! attachment of the newsletter PDF, wasting an entire hour to ultimately no avail because the %@&* thing had to be sent by sneakernet anyway after all.
Good: Receiving a late-evening social call in place of the missed dinner date.
Bad: Wanting, always, more than I can have, ever.
Bad: And now it's after 2am and sleep is far from me. So far that I don't even know where it is.
Bad: And I have so much to do tomorrow.
Bad: And the day after that, and the day and the day and the day after that.
Stupid, but true: And the things that I should be looking forward to can't soothe me right now; they all feel hollow, dry as dust. Because right now I am here alone, and even sleep is far from me.
Good: At least (for now) my net connection is working.
Let's see, what else?
Good: Uh, remembered to pick up my T pass today.
Good: And got to Pearl before they closed.
Bad: They were sold out of every size of clip frame... except one obscure one (4" x 10").
Good: But I needed some of those too, actually. So I bought a couple, and framed my 4" x 10" things for the art show when I got home.
Good:
jessruth is coming to visit this weekend!
Good: And tomorrow I'm having dinner with OtherJessica and Amy whom I haven't seen in a coon's age. So maybe I am looking forward to something, after all.

It is a rather rustic sort of expression. Some might claim it betrays my Midwestern heritage. I don't know. :-)

I admire many things about you, one of which is your quality of continuously striving for something better.

Date: Wednesday, December 1st, 2004 02:58 pm (UTC)2. What's this about Gmail not sending attachments? Was this a one-time fluke? (I myself am sticking to my two Yahoo! accounts for all but trusted recipients. Haven't had a problem with the service yet. And Yahoo! doesn't read my e-mail text with a bot.)

Date: Wednesday, December 1st, 2004 05:42 pm (UTC)Enter Artist and Craftsman Supply. Also a chain, but a very small one of (I think) 6 or 7 stores, run by sensible people. You know that Pearl has gotten bad when it makes good business sense to open up directly across Mass. Ave. from such a known brand name store. They have a friendly, knowledgeable staff, are usually less expensive, and consistently better stocked than Pearl. They keep the same hours as their competitor, and are on the web at http://artistcraftsman.com.
Good luck with the rest of it.
