Would you believe, ALL remaining Pirates performances are now sold out?!?! Even the Saturday matinee. (The girl on the phone told me they've been completely sold out since "a week ago". Meaning I could have conceivably ordered tickets if I'd done it when I decided that that was the show I could catch.)

So -- sorry, gang. We'll all have to find our piratey goodness elsewhere.

I mean, it's not like I needed another thing to do this weekend (with Chanukah and all). It's just.... after all that! Un-be-frickin'-lievable. (Ah, the expletive infix. Ray Jackendoff would be so proud. :-)

I will e-mail an announcement to gsp-cast (etc.), I guess, just to follow up.

On the bright side, I did order our 5 tickets for The Golden Dreydl on Sunday (with Ellen Kushner and Shirim).

Oh, I am! (That's Friday night. I was planning on Pirates for Saturday afternoon.) Are you? That'd be so awesome! I won't get there until after 11 or so, though.

We have sort of a fund-raiser thing to go to from 7-8 or so, then on to Lyman's. At best, we'll be leaving when you show up.

Yeah, that was a fun class, and still (not that I'm taking a great many classes these days) the only one I've ever had where the textbook for the class was written by the professor.

I just Googled Jackendoff. I hadn't even realized he was still teaching at Brandeis—considering what they were doing to his department back in '93, I'm a little surprised. And I didn't expect to see that he'd shaved his beard. In the photo here, he looks amusingly like an older version of Jesse, wouldn't you say?

I thought about trying to arrange a movie alternative. Then it came to me that when the Universe takes a commitment out of my hands, I should not be too hasty about filling the void. :-}

The Chanukah concert does not require tickets nor advance RSVP (there's a recommended donation of $4 at the door). The overall shindig starts at 5:30, so you can come anytime between then and 7:30 when we'll start.

Also, just in case you have nothing to do and are interested, there's a 20s&30s Shabbat service and dinner tonight to which you'd be welcome :-)
