It's possible to construct additional elements that could have made today more perfect... [something involving a hot tub, perhaps, or a surprise visit from [livejournal.com profile] jessruth, or managing to get to [livejournal.com profile] desireearmfeldt's playreading afternoon...] but none that would have made me any happier, on the whole. :-)

Actually, taken in the context of the entire weekend, I'm not sure there was anything missing that I could honestly have asked for. Star in a play? Check! Go to shul Shabbat morning? Check. Have the Friday night service already covered so I don't have to feel guilty about being otherwise engaged? Check. Stay up very late with good friends? Check, check, check. Go out for margaritas, twice? Ethiopian? Mexican? Check, check, check. Have time to watch my two favorite TV shows? Check, check. Borrow [livejournal.com profile] ablock's car to go shopping? Check. Extra day off work? Check. Brunch with fried eggs and yummy potatoes? Check. Cuddles? Massages? Crossword puzzles? Check, check, check. Stay in my pajamas all day? Check. Spend 16+ hours with the boy? Check. Two hours of singing practice? Check. Blow off laundry altogether? Check. Get to bed early? -- Probably. We'll see.

Shameless bragging? Check. ;-)

The theater bit (although it's hardly news to anyone by now) may be shameless bragging, but I'm just so excited to have had the opportunity that I don't really give a rat's ass. :-) For the rest, I'm just plain amazed and grateful.

Don't mind me, I'm just being a smartass.

Seriously, sounds like you had a good weekend. Except for tha pajamas part; I'll never understand why people like to wear clothing when they don't have to. :-)

She lives in a first floor apartment. Might make a difference.

BTW, we read Act One of Fifth of July at the LiW director's house (who has an LJ but I can't recall the spelling). It was confusing reading ten characters with five or six actors, all trying to remember your Sally accent, having failed to figure out who was what age or how they were related to each other beforehand, AND after just having read Pygmalion (another loud petulant blustery Henry...). So we stopped. But I thought it would amuse you.

Is it a coincidence that you read part of Fifth of July and Pygmaleon over the same weekend that [personal profile] firstfrost read part of Talley and Sons and Pygmaleon?
Or is one of you confused about which play you read?

One of us is confused. Specifically, me.

Post will be corrected momentarily.

Aww! How fun. I did very much wish to have been there, also. But that conflicted seriously with the stay-in-pajamas-until-5pm directive. :-) I could have explained the whole family tree to you, no problem. The accent, though, was probably no big loss.
