For those keeping score: I was at work yesterday from 8:30am to 12:30am. Yeah, really. An hour and a half of that (in the middle) was my farewell party, but otherwise I was plugging away mostly nonstop. (Granted, also, a little of it was shul stuff, but mostly not.)

Officially, I am now on vacation from MIT. Until Tuesday. Then I am officially between jobs. Until Monday. :-)

Unfortunately, the one thing I didn't manage to clean up is all my personal files off the work machine, so I am still going to go in again for a couple hours. Next week sometime, maybe.

I carried home as many of my personal effects as I could, though (with the help, or at least moral support, of Tiger Boy; though [livejournal.com profile] ablock also gets props for offering to come pick me up if needed).

I feel... strangely homeless.

Congrats on being done. I hope you're able to make good use of the transition time.

I had no time off (well, a weekend) before I started this job, but I had a month off before the start of the previous job. I really liked having that month off, and I used it very productively. I told myself that I would do that again the next time I switched jobs, but I was too excited about starting here to do that this time.

It's a weird feeling, being without a job for any reason. And you're going to have just enough time to get used to having all that time in your day to do things before you have to start working again.

Good luck with the new job!

Been thinking about you these past few days. Should we bake you a Happy Job Transition Cake? Maybe, and we can have a Happy Life Transition cake for me! Heh. Party time =)

Oddly, I'm feeling a little too tired for Transition Cake. :-} You'd be proud of me, though -- this morning I started off tackling the overflowing box of junk mail! (By the end of next week, I might have managed to clean out my whole apartment! Quick, I need the Jerica Life Counseling One-Week Complete Turnaround Package!)

You and me both, Er. If I thought this healing process could be overwith in a week, I'd sign up this second. *sigh*

Yay for decluttering! With Y.'s help, I started to cleanse my space of some of her things tonight. And I only broke down into tears twice. Progress :}

Yay on new jobs?

What's the transition? I've been missing stuff.

At least you know the break is by choice, and you have someplace to go afterward. :-)
