Unemployed

For those keeping score: I was at work yesterday from 8:30am to 12:30am. Yeah, really. An hour and a half of that (in the middle) was my farewell party, but otherwise I was plugging away mostly nonstop. (Granted, also, a little of it was shul stuff, but mostly not.)
Officially, I am now on vacation from MIT. Until Tuesday. Then I am officially between jobs. Until Monday. :-)
Unfortunately, the one thing I didn't manage to clean up is all my personal files off the work machine, so I am still going to go in again for a couple hours. Next week sometime, maybe.
I carried home as many of my personal effects as I could, though (with the help, or at least moral support, of Tiger Boy; though
ablock also gets props for offering to come pick me up if needed).
I feel... strangely homeless.

Date: Thursday, September 8th, 2005 02:15 pm (UTC)I had no time off (well, a weekend) before I started this job, but I had a month off before the start of the previous job. I really liked having that month off, and I used it very productively. I told myself that I would do that again the next time I switched jobs, but I was too excited about starting here to do that this time.
