A FREE Sneak Preview
Wednesday, September 21 at 8:00pm in 26-100.
_Corpse Bride_ carries on in the dark, romantic tradition of Tim Burton's classic films _Edward Scissorhands_ and _The Nightmare Before Christmas_. Set in a 19th century European village, this stop-motion, animated feature follows the story of Victor (Johnny Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Helena Bonham-Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (Emily Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. It's a tale of optimism, romance and a very lively afterlife, told in a classic Tim Burton style. [warnerbros.com]
This show is a FREE sneak preview! Admission is limited to the MIT Community and guests. An MIT or Wellesley ID is required for receipt of up to two tickets per ID. Tickets will be available beginning at 6 pm in Lobby 16, in preferred admission order. Arrive early for the best seats!

Date: Thursday, September 22nd, 2005 01:14 am (UTC)I'm not a Tim Burton fan myself, and it is only because "The Nightmare Before Christmas" used to be on HBO ALL THE FRIGGIN' TIME that I finally, finally, finally bothered to watch to the end of that film.
This icon is my Chess Bride. It's not a good pic of her, but it's hard to find good pics that are 100x100 or smaller.
