i <3 robots For [livejournal.com profile] hauntmeister: Cuddly costumes for the Roomba!
([livejournal.com profile] ladypsyche and I got to see a demonstration of the Scooba the other night. Which led to a discussion of names for potential future iRobot products. To clean your tub: the Tooba! To do your dishes: the... Doomba?)

Top 10 Forthcoming iRobot Product Names:
Ameeba (to clean your fridge?)
Arreeba (to dust your ceiling!)
Bamba
Carnauba (to wax your car!)
Marimba
Mamba (somehow I suspect this would end up being the dishes one)
Queuba
Tooba (definitely the bathtub)
Yorooba
Zoomba (or its close cousin the Zomba: BRAAAAINS!)

Love the Roomba costumes. Check out this Roomblog than chronicles Cats versus Roomba.

"Viva La Roombalución!" OMG I have to send this to our friend who works there. I mean, he probably has seen it all already, but... OMG.

Oooo, thank you for the Marquis pointer. I too love Archy and Mehitabel (there is a setting of "mehitabel dances with boreas" for soprano and violin, by Andrew Stiller, for which I'm thinking of ordering the sheet music on spec).

I will point out that I've had an Archy lj icon for a couple of years now! I snagged a couple of poems from that site and use them in teaching my course. The lj is cute!

Sounds like a robot that would make it so your enemies sleep with the fishes.

I so want a Scooba. And a dishwasher. And, while I'm wishing for things I can't have, how about a time machine so I can go back far enough into the past to submit the Harry Potter series as my own work and then I'd have enough to buy iRobots?

I wanted a Scooba the second I found out that it would not only wash floors, it would pick up the Cheerios first! But then I saw a semi-review in the Globe claiming the thing needed to be (literally) spoon-fed the cleaning fluid. If I had time for that, I'd have time to wash the floor! ... If anyone out there has contrary information, would love to hear it!

I've never been particularly tempted by a Roomba, because I don't mind vacuuming. But I HATE mopping, so I *covet covet covet* a Scooba!!
