Quick notes:
* zigguratlabs has issued a Call for Research for their 2011 exhibition!
* Prose in Arlington is closing!
* Honorable Menschen is having a Chanukah concert next Sunday 12/5 (which you should all come to! 4pm at tremontstshul)

Spent Thanksgiving in CT with justom's family, including adorable twin nieces now a year and four months. Drove a lot. Ate a lot. Slept a lot. What more can you ask for, really? Oh, also finally watched Avatar, which means I need to go back and review exactly what all the charges of deep racism were about.

Yesterday I invented a new brunch cocktail variation on the Greyhound:
* 1/4 C (2 oz) gin
* 1 C (8 oz) ruby red grapefruit juice
* 1/2 T (1/4 oz) Domaine de Canton
* Stir and enjoy.
I wish to call this the French Greyhound, though it appears this name has been used elsewhere.


Other things I did yesterday:

Hosted brunch at my house for 7 people: me and justom, gilana, firstfrost, harrock, tirinian, and ilhander, all of whom fit into my kitchen at once. I love doing this and have not done it in ages, possibly since moving in here.

As a result, got out some of the dishes and glasses that have been packed away in a box ever since I moved here (hooray).

Made exactly the right amount of food (hooray), including my famous banana-cinnamon-chocolate-chip pancakes, the rest of jessruth's pumpkin bread, and a spinach-mushroom frittata by justom.

Took justom to the bus -- the new World Wide Bus operating Alewife>NYC, hooray! It was apparently OK modulo the post-Thanksgiving traffic.

Completed about 3/4 of my holiday shopping

Went to the gym, which makes 10 times this month, go me!

Rehearsed for 1/5 hours with my new duet partner for the Honorable Menschen concert next Sunday (which, did I mention, you should all come to! 4pm at tremontstshul)

Completed about 3/4 of the brunch washing-up

Was in bed before midnight

And now, off for another day of slogging through the diamond mines. (Hence mood setting.)

I'm having productivity envy! Glad my pumpkin bread recipe was a success. I made three loaves for the Berkshire contingent, and there was nary a crumb left over!
