Since Manhattan is closing bridges to commercial traffic tomorrow (!), the movers have officially rescheduled us for a week from tomorrow, Sunday 9/4.
This actually works out well in a variety of ways, not least of which is that I can continue to be in this apartment for the coming week instead of finding crash space. (Talked to the incoming tenant, the landlords' granddaughter, who was super gracious and flexible and said "as long as there's room cleared for me to move the stuff in that I need to", which was exactly our plan. The packed boxes are all piled to the rafters in the living room.) Baruch haShem.

- We're continuing to pack this afternoon (
awhyzip and
brass_rat are heading over shortly to help out for a bit) and will take ourselves out on a nice dinner date tonight if the weather isn't too hostile yet.
- We get tomorrow to putter around doing more packing/purging of office stuff (you know, like I've been supposed to be doing for months).
- We will hopefully have clear weather to still make a car run down to NYC on Monday with fragile/needful things.
- Then I can still use a few sociable hands here Tue/Wed/Thu nights to do things like pack the final dishes. :-)
