The last night of a visit is always sad. I am all packed, except for toiletries and the pajamas I have on. Good thing I brought the bigger bag, because, as usual, I went shopping with my aunt and picked up a couple of things.

This visit's Scrabble tournament results: Mom beat me two games out of three, but the one I won had a significantly higher point spread.

I managed to get some sun without getting too burnt (yes, sunscreen), except I do seem to have developed a bit of a rash. Apparently this is what they call a "sun allergy"; fortunately it's not a true allergy, just an overreaction that will calm down as the summer progresses. This is good. But I took an antihistamine.

I really, really hope my flights are on schedule tomorrow.

I always tell people that I'm allergic to the sun, because I sneeze once or twice when going outside into bright sunlight. It seems to be genetic, carried along the y chromosome, because my father does it too, and his father did as well (but not my sisters). Your kind sounds a lot less fun.

I sneeze in the sun, too! :-)

(but I only have x chromosomes)

Hmm... convergent evolution? Maybe the sun-sneezing gene is recessive, and it's only coincidence that it's gone from grandfather to father to son...

I think the sneeze-on-entering-bright-sunlight reflex is not all that uncommon, actually. I don't have it, but I've certainly heard of it. (But not whether it's genetic :-)
