How to inoculate ourselves against post-show letdown? I know: Let's plan something fun for next month when we have lives again!

I would love to see Pirates with you but I'll be on my way to, in or returning from San Fransisco most of those dates. And, a result of that travel, I have ended up booking the rest of the dates solid.

They're already doing Pirates again?...

Wait... oh... Harvard's last Pirates was... oh... 2000, wasn't it?

Actually, depending on the weather, my workload, and various other factors, I just might drive out to Boston that weekend... But I won't make any promises.

I'm vaguely interested in experiencing the karaoke scene with friends, and might be cajolable onto the stage if I'm over my cold, but probably not for a girls' night.

What he said, pretty much, but without the cold.

"Enh, I've seen Pirates enough for one lifetime, but if I'm free I might go."

Well, maybe not a whole lifetime, but I got kinda Pirated out.

The episode of She Spies this week has one of the characters being "tortured" (they don't get far enough to actually do anything physical to her). They pump her full of sodium pentathol, and she responds by singing G&S. "Boss, please let me hit her!" says the thug, trying to cover his ears in agony. "I'm here for murder and mayhem - I didn't sign up for light opera!"

This reminded me of the brilliant scene from Babylon 5 with Marcus and the good doctor stowed away on a long transport voyage to Mars, and Marcus submitting him to "A Modern Major-General".

What am I sayiny? I'm just sayin'. o;-)
